The SaaSOptics Projects module is a unique and powerful on-boarding and implementation management control function that makes it easy to manage your books while your customers are being on-boarded.
Simply set up configurable Project Templates for your different types of on-boarding or implementation processes. Each template can include as many milestones as needed, and each milestone can have as many triggers as needed. Triggers create invoices, revenue records and set subscription dates using your customized rules.
You have variable dates for invoicing events, revenue events, or subscription terms when you receive an order.
With multiple concurrent implementations, tracking key milestones with spreadsheets and email becomes impractical. Invoices are missed, revenue records are wrong, and it injects risk into your business.

Simple On-Boarding Scenario
Your standard agreement includes a subscription and an implementation. You invoice 25% of the order up front, and the balance of the order when the customer is live.
Milestone #1: Order Received.
The project template is defined such that when the order is processesd, the first milestone is automatically completed, which creates and sends an invoice for 25% of the total contract value.
Milestone #2: Go-Live.
The balance of the contract is invoiced.
The start date of the one-year subscription term is set.
Implementation fee revenues are recognized on the go-live date, and the subscription revenues are scheduled over the one-year term.
Complex On-Boarding Scenario
Your standard agreement includes a subscription with training fees and implementation fees. Complex billing has been negotiated and the subscription start date is triggered by customer acceptance.
Milestone #1: Order Received
The project template is defined such that when the order is processesd, the first milestone is automatically completed, which creates and sends an invoice for 50% of the training and implementation fees.
Milestone #2: Ship or Install.
An invoice for 25% of the implementation fee is sent.
Milestone #3: Training Delivered.
All training revenue is recognized.
An invoice for 50% of the training fee is sent.
Milestone #4: Customer Acceptance.
An invoice is sent for 50% of the Implementation fee plus the first year subscription fee for the two year subscription.
An Invoice is scheduled for the second year of the subscription, but not sent yet.
Revenue for the subscription is scheduled over the two-year term.
Revenue for the implementation is independently scheduled, all on this date, over a one-year term, or (by best practices) over a two-year term.
